HTC Desire A17
Release Date: 06/06/2018
After the superhit Redmi Note 4, the Chinese mobile manufacturer Xiaomi is coming up with another mobile, which is the Mi 5 Plus. The high-range model comes with a 2K display and 4GB RAM as its main selling points. The Mi 5 Plus release date in India is expected to be in December 2017. Let’s go into the details.
2K display, 4GB RAM, Fingerprint sensor
No expandable memory slot, non-removable battery, Android Lollipop
The Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus comes with the same processor as its predecessor, which is Qualcomm Snapdragon. However, the phone packs an Octa-core processor. The processor speed is 2.2 GHz and it comes with an Adreno 530 Graphics Processing Unit.
But one drawback of the processor is that it boots on Android Lollipop.
The phone comes with a 13MP primary camera and a 4MP front camera. The video recording quality goes up to Full HD (1920x1080). Also, the features of the main camera include a LED flash, Touch to focus, Autofocus, Geo-tagging, Panorama, Digital Zoom, and Face
This mobile has a non-removable Li-Polymer battery with the capacity of 3500 mAh. The company claims that a full charge can last up to 21 hours of (3G) talk time. There are other mobiles which are quite good at battery capacity than this. For an instance, Redmi Note 4, which costs Rs 13000, comes with a 4100 mAh battery.
Design and Display:
The phone sports a big 5.7-inch AMOLED display with the screen resolution of 1440x2560p. The capacitive multi-touch screen has the pixel density of an impressive 515
The phone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. But, the Mi confined the memory capacity without giving an expandable memory slot. Without a memory slot, the one comes with a dedicated dual-SIM slot.
The Mi 5 Plus also features an Accelerometer, a Proximity Sensor, a Compass, and a Gyro Sensor. Also, the phone comes with a rear-mounted Fingerprint sensor. The Mi 5 Plus price in India is expected to be around Rs 9700.
Other than the 2K display, 4GB RAM, and the impressive Fingerprint sensor, this phone lacks features a high-range phone would have. All in all, this is a good buy but could have been better with the Android OS and memory slot. At the price of Rs 9700, the specifications offered are impressive and it is only after the Micromax Canvas Infinity that smartphone manufacturers have begun introducing full view screens in smartphones priced under 10000.
