Vivo launched its smartphone, the Y51, in the month of November in 2015. The Vivo Y51 operates on Android 5.0.2, which is an old and well-used version of Android OS, the Android Lollipop. The handset uses a 5-inch touchscreen display, which has a resolution of 540 X 960 pixels. The Y51 is powered by a 2350 mAh non-removable Lithium-ion battery.
This budget packs in a Quad-core Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 processor, which is assisted by an Adreno 306 GPU. The processor is helped by 2GB RAM. The phone has an internal storage capacity of 16GB which is expandable up to 128GB by using a microSD card. Regarding the cameras, it features an 8 Megapixel rear camera, along with a 5 Megapixel front camera.
The Vivo Y51 is a dual SIM smartphone and can accept only a micro SIM. The connectivity features are Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 3G and 4G, including Band 40 support, which is used by certain LTE operators in India. Sensors packed in the phone are a proximity, ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, and a gyroscope.

The cameras are very poor, considering the bill that the Vivo Y51 tries to fit. The device packs in a rear camera of 8 megapixels alongside a front camera of 5 megapixels.
The battery life of the Vivo Y51 can be best described as average, but not below average. The 2350 mAh battery shall guarantee that you get enough juice for a full day charge on the device, which is considering a normal level of usage.
In conclusion, the Vivo Y51 fails to impress on several different occasions, and at the price of Rs. 9,999 in India, it is fair to say that there are better fish in the ocean if a budget smartphone is what you’re looking for.
