Chinese mobile manufacturer OnePlus is coming back with its new mobile OnePlus 5. After the huge hit of its OnePlus 3 & 3T, expectations are high on this OnePlus 5. Any normal, sane person would ask, why there isn’t a OnePlus 4. And the reason for that is number 4 is considered unlucky in China. Coming back to the topic, let’s talk about the OnePlus 5 features and specifications along with a speculated review. The OnePlus 5 release date in India is June 22.
2K resolution, Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB RAM, 23+16MP primary cameras
Non-removable 4100 mAh battery, No expandable storage
The OnePlus 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core processor. Along with Adreno 540 GPU and 6/8GB RAM, the OnePlus 5 is going to be a mobile you’ve never seen before. Be it high-graphical gaming, vigorous multi-tasking, the OnePlus 5 has it all. And the fact it runs on Android Nougat just adds to it.
The OnePlus 5 comes with 23MP+16MP dual cameras and a 16MP selfie camera. According to the company, the OnePlus 5 can take 2K videos at 30fps. Along with these, the cameras come with additional features such as phase detection autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, and Auto HDR. And the front camera quality can go up to 1080p.
The OnePlus 5 is powered by a 4100 mAh non-removable Li-ion battery. While this is a bit low for a flagship phone, the Dash Charging comes to rescue. OnePlus’ Dash Charge feature, known as the best fast charging technology, can do all the work. Rumors suggest that the battery can charge from 0% to 30% within 10 minutes.
Design and Display:
The design is where the OnePlus 5 is not any new. Except for the rear side of the phone where the dual cameras are placed, almost everything about the OnePlus’ design is same as its predecessors. The phone comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display along with 2K resolution. The pixel density of the screen, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, is 401 ppi. Although the phone runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1, it is based on OnePlus’ proprietary user interface Oxygen OS.
Coming to the storage, the OnePlus 5 comes with a 6GB/8GB RAM. Also, the OnePlus 5 comes with 128GB internal memory and there's no expandable storage. Bummer alert!
The OnePlus 5 comes with a front mounted fingerprint sensor, an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and a compass. Also with USB Type-C, USB 3.1, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual SIM technologies, the phone comes in three color variants, which are Gunmetal, Soft Gold, Midnight Black. And the OnePlus price in India is Rs 32999.
You tell me! Wasn’t there any drawback of OnePlus 5 except for a non-removable battery? Everything is perfect about this phone and it has the potential to sweep out every other competitor in the market. As a verdict, we would say, wait for this mobile. Eagerly!
