Micromax joined the selfie craze with the Micromax Canvas Selfie . It comes with a powerful front camera and interesting specifications. This phone has one of the most unique designs we have ever come across. The top and bottom are arched making it look quirky. This makes it more appealing to the youth. It comes in two colour options i.e. Sapphire blue and Pearl white. This is a good refreshment from the black coloured phones around. The back has a leather finish and gold buttons (in the pearl white edition) giving it a luxurious feel. It is slightly on the thicker side but remains lightweight and easy to use with a single hand.

The Micromax Canvas Selfie has a 4.7-inch display that is protected by Gorilla glass 3. It is one of the best displays by Micromax so far. We have an issue with the view under sunlight. Otherwise, the viewing angles and colours are satisfactory.

On the software front, the Micromax Canvas Selfie comes with a 1.7GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor which is usually the case with low budget phones. It bears 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage. Both of these are standard specifications for a mid-range phone. Thankfully, the storage can be further expanded upto 32GB using a microSD card.

Coming to the cameras, the Micromax Canvas Selfie comes with a 13MP front camera that has an LED flash unit. It has a dedicated app which offers many filters to make your face appear flawless. It lets you remove dark circles, whiten teeth and reduce oil. The special camera button makes it even more convenient to click on the go. On the rear there is another 13MP unit that is surrounded by gold design detail. To click pictures in low-light conditions it is equipped with dual LED flash. Both these cameras are decent enough as per the price. It is safe to say that the selfies come out as good as the ones by mid range HTC devices.

The Micromax Canvas Selfie carries a 2300 mAh battery that works for a good couple of hours. It has two SIM card slots out of which one is hybrid. So, you can’t have dual SIM and extra storage at the same time. Apart from that there is WiFi and bluetooth.
