HTC has been sitting in the background since the news came out that its design and engineering team was acquired by the Google. The result was that company disappeared from the rumour mill. The market was starting to think that it may not see an HTC smartphone anymore. But company’s announcement of the new HTC Desire 12 Plus has put users interests back. Let’s talk about the HTC Desire 12 Plus specifications.
FullView 18:9 aspect ratio display, Android 8.0 Oreo-based UI, Dual-Rear cameras
Poor battery capacity
Design & Display
HTC just knows the right aesthetics to impress your eyes! Which is why the brand never ceases to amaze with its design skills on its line-up. The new HTC Desire 12 Plus is no different. In fact, it inherits the premium liquid style design from flagship HTC phones. Thus, offering the luxurious smartphone in the mid-range segment. The 6-inches HD+ displays come with 18:9 aspect ratio, sporting a 1440 x 720-pixel resolution.
For a mid-range priced device, it sure feels like an underpowered smartphone. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, which is an octa-core chipset. Supported by a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card slot. With Android 8.0 Oreo in the equation, it might offer a smooth user experience. While performance might be great as well, considering company might have optimized the device for casual multitasking and gaming.
The Desire 12 Plus scores huge points when it comes to the camera package. It comes with a dual-rear camera setup including 13MP + 2MP sensors. The second lens ensures you get portrait mode, bokeh effect and other range of camera features, which has become a trend in the smartphone these days. But unfortunately, there is no support of 4K video recording if that is something you were looking forward too.
Looking at the battery capacity on the new Desire 12 Plus, which is 2965 mAh, it may not be an ideal capacity for a 6-inch phone to come with. Of course, the company might claim that they have optimized the user interface with power saving modes. But wouldn’t you like to access all the features of the device when you want, instead of worrying about the battery juice.
After going through all the HTC Desire 12 Plus specifications, it looks like a pretty decent handset if one is inclined towards a fantastic design aesthetics and intuitive user interface. As well as if you’re a big consumer of videos, it comes with a brilliant display. But unfortunately, the poor battery capacity might be a deal breaker for some of you out there. Choose wisely!
