Xiaomi, a brand most of the Indian smartphone consumer has been familiar with has introduced their latest “Big Badass” device, the Mi Max 2 in India. Released in India on July 18th, the successor to the Xiaomi Mi Max/ Mi Max Prime is going on sale in India on Mi.com. It’s bigger! Sporting a massive 6.44-inches display, the Mi Max 2 is a phablet for entertainment and work on the go. The tablet sized display allows for the immersive viewing experience. While many would argue that Xiaomi has downgraded in terms of the processor, as the earlier iteration has Snapdragon 650 processor, and the new model is equipped with a Snapdragon 625 processor. Xiaomi focused hard on improving the photography experience on their new Big Badass phone. The 16MP sensor on the Mi Max is replaced with a 12MP sensor. You would think that is a downgrade, but actually, it’s a massive improvement. The Sony IMX386 sensor claims to enhance the low-light photography experience. The large 1.25μm (micron) pixels size helps in better noise performance in low light conditions. The other camera features include PDAF, Dual-tone LED flash, and HDR support.
A battery life you wouldn’t have to concern about!
The battery capacity on the new Mi Max is bumped up to 5300 mAh. The company claims it is their highest battery capacity smartphone till date. When an already great battery life of Mi Max with 4850 mAh got improvement in form of capacity. You can be sure, the battery life isn’t a concern at all. The interesting addition is that Mi Max 2 is sporting a Type-C port, which means you’d see a much faster charging on the new Xiaomi phone. The Quick Charge 3.0 is supported by the new handset, which was missing out in its predecessor.
