6 Reasons to be Addicted to OnePlus 5 – Release date & Features

OnePlus 5: Unbelievable things you never knew about

Never Settle! That’s what people think nowadays before they upgrade to a flagship smartphone. Thanks to the OnePlus team and their range of flagships over the year since 2014. All OnePlus flagships may not have lived up to the slogan, “Flagship Killer”, but most of them certainly did. And looking at the reports, the new OnePlus 5 would most certainly be a flagship killer smartphone. The company has officially confirmed they are coming up with OP5 before the summer ends.

Here are the six reasons to get addicted to OnePlus 5:

1. Unbelievable RAM

When you think you have seen it all! You haven’t. Last year, we saw that smartphone industry is still nascent with the trend of 6GB RAM on flagship handsets. As Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus and LG G6 still powered by 4GB RAM. Which is why it will feel unbelievable to see a phone in near future with 8GB RAM. Naturally, it doesn’t concern OnePlus, which is why it would be coming with 8GB RAM. One other flagship that will be taking the OnePlus 5 head on would be the Asus Zenfone AR with its 8GB RAM.

2. Dual Cameras – When one is not enough!

Two is always better than one. With technology catching up so fast, many brands have introduced dual-camera setup on the rear as well as on the front side of their handsets. So, it only makes sense for OnePlus to introduce a dual-camera setup on their smartphone if they want it to be flagship killer. Carl Pei reportedly teased a look at the rear side of the OP5 on his Instagram Stories. If there is any truth to that, then we may definitely see a first ever OnePlus smartphone with dual-cameras on the rear.

3. Unmatched Power

When a company is calling their smartphone a flagship product in their line-up, it is believed that it would sport the most powerful configuration the brand has to offer. Which is where OnePlus Never Settles. The company is all set to equip their next flagship phone with Snapdragon 835 processor. It the latest flagship chipset from the house of Qualcomm. There are only a couple of phones using this SoC (System-on-Chip) including Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, and Xiaomi Mi 6.

Smartphones have become an integral part of our lives, everything we do, we need our smartphones by our side, working all day. OnePlus is known for offering a great battery life on their OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. Thanks to Dash Charge technology, the phones have been offering good battery life experience. Carrying forward OnePlus 5 would sport Dash Charge and may pack high-capacity battery, which lacked on previous OnePlus models.

5. QuadHD Display

While OnePlus have made its consumers happy with AMOLED displays on their smartphones, but they haven’t introduced a 2K display on their flagship phone yet. This time it might be different. The young Chinese smartphone manufacturer may finally introduce a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution display on their upcoming flagship killer.

6. Big Surprise

OnePlus may have a Big Surprise in store for their loyal consumer base. Carl Pei, the Co-founder of OnePlus is known for teasing their upcoming announcements. The possibilities are endless when it comes to a surprise. But to give a gist of what might be coming your way. It is believed that a Midnight Black Edition would be released as one of the Standard models of the new OnePlus smartphone. Additionally, it is claimed by a Weibo (Chinese microblogging) user that dual-cameras would be coming on the front as well.
