WhatsApp’s 2017 Purge
WhatsApp might not work if your Android, Apple, or Blackberry OS is old
Rumour has it that the Facebook-owned instant messenger application ‘WhatsApp’ will no longer be compatible with old versions of Android OS, Blackberry, Symbian and IOS.
So why this?
In an official blog, key speakers from WhatsApp mentioned that those versions will not be able to support the newer functions that they are planning to bring to effect in 2017.
So, if you have a smartphone with Android Eclair and Froyo, now might be the time to let go of the past and accept the new. You can either upgrade to the next variant or take one of the many phones with newer operating systems.
That said, to all the Apple users who are holding on to their IOS 6 and iPhone 3GS, the time has come to upgrade to stay in touch or just fall behind. This message is also to the Symbian users. Guys, I think it’s okay to say goodbye to your old and ancient operating systems, that has seen the times of the Vikings and Maghadas!
Blackberry 10 user will have to keep an eye out for news on this, for, no update on when the date of Purge is will be out Yet.
WhatsApp users have come a long way ever since, with the addition of Android Nougat and IOS 11 in the market now, the updates on WhatsApp kept increasing. Text status became image status and picture stories integrated to be a part of it.
With such updates, the purge had to happen and that gave rise to the WhatsApp purge list.
